YU-YAO TANG's Obituary
Mr. Yu-Yao Tang, aged 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on July 13, 2025. He was born on June 1, 1948, in Tainan, Taiwan, to Chen-Yao Tang and Ging-Hwa Tang.
He was a deeply spiritual man who shared God’s love with others and strived to live by the Words of the Lord. He had a deep religious belief, compassion for others, and love for his family and friends.
Yu-Yao grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. His education began at Sanchong Elementary School. He then attended Heng Yee Catholic Middle School, and, finally, Chenggong High School. He went on to study architecture and graduated with his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree from Chung Yuan Christian University in 1971. After graduating from Chung Yuan Christian University, he served as a Second Lieutenant instructor in The Republic of China Army on Kinmen Island. Following his time in The Republic of China Army, he made the decision to emigrate from Taiwan to College Station, Texas, where he attended Texas A&M University to continue pursuing and refining his knowledge in the field of architecture and design. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1978 with his Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree. He was a licensed architect in both Taiwan and the United States - an accomplishment that was not an easy feat, but one that contributed to his enriching work experience as a passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable architect. His professional experience included project supervisor and manager, marketing consultant, and lead strategist for major projects, such as hotels, resorts, sports facilities, residential and commercial buildings, hospital facilities, office buildings, and many other infrastructures in the United States, China, and Taiwan.
Yu-Yao’s legacy of love, wisdom, and compassion, as well as his cheerful appearance, hearty laughter, and positive outlook on life, will live on forever through the many stories he shared and the memories of those who had the opportunity to know him. He will be remembered as a loving spouse, brother, father, uncle, cousin, friend, and grandfather.
Yu-Yao was preceded in death by his parents, Chen-Yao Tang (d. 2007) and Ging-Hwa Tang (d. 2004); sister, Yu-Ling Tang (d. 1998); and first wife, Alice Bi-Lien Tang (d. 1986).
